Are you prepared for the upcoming MARPOL Amendments?

Starting from May 1, 2024, new MARPOL regulations will come into effect as detailed in International Maritime Organization (IMO) Resolution MEPC.360 (79).

These regulations will be applicable to all yachts, whether private or commercial, that are 100 gross tons or above, as well as all yachts certified to carry 15 or more persons, regardless of tonnage.

Outlined below are the specific regulations:

Regulation 10 – Placards, garbage management plans, and garbage record-keeping. The introductory sentence of paragraph 3 is amended as follows: "Every ship of 100 gross tonnage and above, every ship certified to carry 15 or more persons engaged in voyages to ports or offshore terminals under the jurisdiction of another Party to the Convention, and every fixed or floating platform must be equipped with a Garbage Record Book."
